A Few Essentials

Just the practical bits from booking and cancellations to lesson scheduling and package use so everything runs smoothly from poolside to payment.

By booking or attending swimming lessons with Swim Jar, you agree to the terms below, which form part of our agreement. These may be updated from time to time and we’ll let you know of any significant changes.

Booking

Lessons at Swim Jar run year-round in alignment with published school term dates and availability.

All lessons and programmes must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. When joining for the first time, lesson details including dates, times and venue will be agreed upon in advance.

All communication will be sent to the person listed on the booking confirmation. Please ensure your contact details and email address remain up to date.

Lesson Duration

All Swim Jar lessons are 45 minutes in duration unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Parents & Guardians

The session begins when the instructor takes charge of the swimmer and ends when they are returned to the designated pick-up point. Outside of this, the swimmer remains the full responsibility of the parent or guardian.

Parents or guardians are responsible for children outside of lesson times, including changing rooms, poolside supervision where required and arrival/departure from venues.

We kindly ask that parents or guardians remain on the pool premises throughout the lesson where appropriate.

Payment

Payment is required in advance in order to secure lesson times and maintain lesson continuity.

Payment can be completed via PayPal, Direct Debit or bank transfer using the secure payment details provided.

PayPal is generally reserved for overseas or one-time bookings and incurs a standard processing fee. Where PayPal is selected as the payment method, the applicable transaction fee will be added to the final balance.

Direct Debit or bank transfer may be preferred for ongoing lesson programmes.

If somebody else is paying on your behalf, you remain responsible for ensuring they understand Swim Jar’s payment policies and timelines.

Swim Jar reserves the right to release unconfirmed lesson times where payment has not been received.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for any cancellation or rescheduling request.

If cancellation is made with at least 24 hours’ notice, a credit note may be applied to your account and used within 6 months, subject to availability.

Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged in full and are non-refundable.

Where possible, Swim Jar will always try to accommodate changes and offer alternative lesson times, though this cannot be guaranteed.

Cancellations should be made in writing via email or contact form.

Please note that Swim Jar is not governed by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Lateness

If a swimmer arrives late, the lesson will still finish at the originally scheduled time.

If Swim Jar is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, lesson time will be adjusted accordingly where possible.

New Swimmers

If you are new to Swim Jar, you may cancel within 7 days of receiving these Terms & Conditions and receive a full refund.

After this period, the standard cancellation policy applies.

Lesson Packages & Programmes

All lesson programmes and intensive learning packages are designed to support continuity and consistent progress in the water.

Packages should be used within the agreed booking period.

Unless otherwise arranged:

• 4-session programmes must be used within 4 months

• Intensive learning programmes should be completed within the scheduled booking period

Unused sessions are non-refundable.

Shared Lessons

2:1 shared lessons are designed for children of a similar age and swimming ability.

Swim Jar reserves the right to advise alternative lesson arrangements where lesson matching is not considered suitable.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless stated otherwise.

Once redeemed, gift vouchers are non-refundable and should be used within the validity period.

Packages must be used within 4 months for all lessons packages .

Health & Medical Information

Parents or guardians are responsible for informing Swim Jar of any medical conditions, injuries, allergies or additional learning considerations prior to lessons commencing.

Pool Entry & Travel

Pool entry fees and travel costs may apply depending on lesson location and venue arrangements.

Lessons take place across selected venues, private residences and residential pools throughout Central and West London.

Photography & Privacy

Photography or video recording during lessons is not permitted without prior agreement.

All personal information is handled respectfully and in accordance with privacy and safeguarding expectations.

Updates to Terms

From time to time, Swim Jar may update these Terms & Conditions where necessary. Any significant updates will be communicated appropriately.

Any deviation from these terms remains entirely at Swim Jar’s discretion and should not be considered a permanent waiver of policy.
